Note: 01 vacancy has been reserved for persons with benchmark disability in the category of blindness or low vision.

UPSC IES ISS 2020 Notification: Eligibility Criteria

1.Nationality

  • (a) A Citizen Of India, OR
  • (b) A Subject Of Nepal, OR
  • (c) A Subject Of Bhutan, OR
  • (d) A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 01/01/1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • (e) A Person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or from Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Note: The candidates must be in possession of a certificate of eligibility issued by the Govt. of India for categories (b), (c), (d) and (e).

2. Educational Qualification

1. For Indian Economic Service (IES):

  • Candidates should have a Master's degree in Statistics / Mathematical Statistics / Applied Statistics from a recognized university or a foreign university approved by the Central Government of India.

2. For Indian Statistical Service (ISS):

  • The candidates must have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics as one of the subjects OR
    The candidates should have a Master’s degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics from a recognized university or a foreign university approved by the Central Government of India.

UPSC IES ISS 2020: Age Limit

The candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and would not have attained the age of 30 years on August 1, 2020, ie they would not have been born before August 2, 1990 and not later than August 1, 1999.

Note: Age Relaxation is given as per the category of the candidate.
